Someone explain to me the logic behind this, because I am utterly confused.

What does it mean when a bloke wakes you up at the crack of dawn to break your heart up with you (even though you're not even dating) and tell you to date another bloke?

Is that just the most ridiculous thing in the world, or am I missing something?
